Gail Kemp

I am a trained Independent Funeral Celebrant and a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.  I work primarily in South Buckinghamshire but I regularly conduct funeral services at crematoria and burial grounds across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Middlesex - and am always prepared to travel further afield if requested.

Like everyone, I have lost family and friends over the years and I know how important it is to make sure that a funeral is absolutely right - both for the person who has died and for their loved ones left behind.

'Grief isn’t the absence of love.

Grief is the proof that love is still there.'

Tessa Shaffer (Heaven Has No Regrets)

I work with you to create and deliver a meaningful ceremony that really focuses on the life of the person who has died and that leaves positive memories for their family and friends.

The ceremony can be completely non-religious or it can reflect religious and spiritual beliefs with appropriate readings and music.  It will be dignified and respectful....but it might also raise a smile,

it might include candles, photographs or other memorabilia.  My ceremonies are about whatever is right for you.

Everybody has different needs and expectations, and, as an experienced celebrant, I will work

closely with you to make sure every detail is right.  Usually, we will meet in person so that you can share your memories of your loved one, tell me about their life and their personality, what mattered

to them and what they meant to you.  But, if important family members live a long way away, we

can always work over the phone or via email.

I have resources to help you choose suitable music, poetry, readings, prayers and hymns.  Once I have spoken to you, I create a completely individual, uplifting ceremony.  That ceremony will reflect and honour the life of the deceased person and will include your memories of, and tributes to, them.

On the day, you can participate with readings and eulogies - or not, depending on what feels right.  Sometimes people intend to deliver a reading but emotion overtakes them...and if that happens, I will be there to help or even to read your tribute on your behalf.

Whatever your situation, you can rest assured of my full support and care - and you can be confident that the ceremony I create will say the right things, in the right place, in the right way.

'There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn,

and people we can't live without but have to let go.'
